Works: Cannot Set Document Window to Open Maximized

If you do not use the Save Workspace command, the document window must be manually maximized each session, even if the document itself was saved maximized.

Notes:

• Maximized files in the saved Workspace will only open maximized when restarting Works, not when opening them manually.
  
  
• If a file in the saved Workspace is moved, renamed or deleted, the error message "Cannot find file or file already open" appears. Save the Workspace again to correct the problem.

Opening Existing Documents

To automatically open an existing document maximized, use the Save Workspace command:

1. Start Works for Windows.
2. Open the document you want to open maximized.
3. Maximize the document window.
4. From the File menu, click Save Workspace.
5. Exit Works.
6. Restart Works.

The document should appear maximized and be opened automatically.

Creating New Documents

New documents will open maximized only if the currently active Works document is maximized. For example, if you are working on a maximized word processing document and you create a new document, the new document will be maximized, regardless of whether it is a word processing, spreadsheet, database or communications document.
