MXL5: Large Cursor in Edit Box with Multiple Line Height |
In Microsoft Excel, if you create an Edit Box that is multiple lines of text in height, when you display the dialog box and click in it, the cursor in the Edit Box is the height of the Edit Box instead of the height of a single line of text.
Normally, when you click in an Edit Box in a custom dialog box, the cursor
that appears is the height of a single line of text. However, when you run
a custom dialog box and you click in an Edit box, the cursor that appears
is the height of the Edit Box. This behavior occurs if you haven't selected
the Multiline Edit option for that Edit Box.
The Multiline Edit check box on the Control tab of the Format Object dialog
box allows you to enter multiple lines of text in an Edit Box. Without this
option selected, the text that you enter in the box is displayed as a
single line that does not wrap, and the cursor that appears when you click
in the Edit box is the height of the Edit Box.
Note that when you click in an Edit Box on a dialog sheet, the cursor is
always the height of a single line of text. The behavior described above
occurs only when you run the dialog box.
To enter multiple lines of text in an Edit Box in a custom dialog box, and
to avoid having a tall cursor when you click in the Edit Box, do the
following:
