Update your version of Works to Works for Windows 3.0a or 3.0b to correct the problem. You will not need to save the file in a different format; however, when you open the file in Works, each cell will be formatted to the first font and style of the cell.
If you are unable to obtain an updated version of Works, save the file from Microsoft Excel in a .WKS format before you import it into Works 3.0. The data will be retained, but the entire spreadsheet will be formatted to the Works default font.
