SYMPTOMS

If you print a spreadsheet or a database in list view using the IBM Lexmark IIc inkjet printer driver version 1.0, the patterns don't print in cells with the Pattern format set to the first (solid), third, or fourth option.

RESOLUTION

To correctly print these patterns, do one of the following:

  • Print at 150 dpi or a lower-resolution.

    -or-

  • Install the Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet 500 printer driver for black and white printing.

    -or-

  • Install the HP DeskJet 500c driver for color printing.

MORE INFORMATION

The Lexmark 4076 driver installation disks install two drivers: the Lexmark 4076 Colorfine and the Lexmark 4076 MonoPrinter. The Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet 500 driver is available on the disks shipped with Microsoft Windows. The DeskJet 500c driver is available from HP. You can contact HP's BBS at (208) 344-1691.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Create a database with at least two fields (to see the contrast) and go to list view.
  2. Type data in the two fields and then select the first field.
  3. On the Format menu, click Patterns.
  4. In the Shading box, click Pattern, and from the list that results, select the first (solid), third, or fourth option.
  5. Click OK, and then select another cell to remove the highlight.
  6. Print to an IBM Lexmark printer with a Lexmark IIc 4076 driver.
