Q124991

-------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft Publisher, versions 2.0, 2.0a - Microsoft Publisher for Windows 95, version 3.0 - Microsoft Publisher 97 -------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS ======== If you copy a table that contains merged cells from version 5.x of WordPerfect for Windows and paste it into Publisher, the cells won't be merged in Publisher. CAUSE ===== When you copy a WordPerfect table to the Windows Clipboard, the text of the table is converted to Rich Text Format (RTF). This RTF information does not contain cell-merge instructions. When you paste the information into Publisher, Publisher tries to create a new table based on the RTF data in the Clipboard. Since the RTF data does not have the cell merge instructions, the cells won't be merged in Publisher. WORKAROUND ========== You can manually remerge any incorrect cells by choosing the Merge Cells command on Publisher's Table menu. STATUS ====== Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. MORE INFORMATION ================ WordPerfect is manufactured by vendors independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability.
