SUMMARY

When you move or copy information from Microsoft Word to Microsoft Excel, the result in Microsoft Excel will vary depending on what is active in the worksheet. The following behavior occurs whether you are using the drag-and- drop method or the Paste Special command:

• If a cell in the Microsoft Excel worksheet is active when the Word data is moved or copied into Excel, the Word data is inserted as text into the selected cell.



• If a Microsoft Excel chart or drawing object is active when the data is pasted into Microsoft Excel, the selection is inserted as a Word Document Object.



• If the Word data is a graphic, it is inserted into Microsoft Excel as a Word Document Object, regardless of what is active in Microsoft Excel.
