The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf you have the Hewlett-Packard Deskjet 560c, version 4.0 or 5.0, printer driverloaded on your computer, you may receive no output or garbled output when you print using the Windows Printing System.
CAUSEThe Hewlett-Packard Deskjet 560c printer driver Setup overwrites a line in the WIN.INI file that is needed by the Windows Printing System.
RESOLUTIONEdit the WIN.INI file. Locate the [spooler] section of the file and change the line that reads
QP.LPTx = HPVQPR.DLLto:
QP.LPTx = WPSLJQP.DLLNOTE: Making this change will let you print with the Windows Printing System, but you will not be able to print using the Deskjet 560c manually. To print using the Deskjet 560c manually, change the WIN.INI file back to its original setting, or revert to a previous version of the Deskjet printer driver.
MORE INFORMATIONThe HP 560c version 5.0 driver, creates the following entry in the [spooler] section of the WIN.INI. The same resolution as above applies.
[spooler] QP.LPTx=HPVUI.DLL |
