------------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows, versions 4.0, 4.0a, 4.0c - Microsoft Publisher for Windows, versions 2.0, 2.0a ------------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOM ======= If you print a slide to a Canon BJ-200e printer, characters may drop from your printout. No gap is left between other characters--it simply prints as if the dropped character did not exist. CAUSE ===== You may encounter this problem if you use TrueType fonts larger than 25 points. This problem seems to occur only when you use version 1.01 of the BJ-200e driver provided by Canon. STATUS ====== Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in PowerPoint for Windows versions 4.0, 4.0a, and 4.0c. This problem was corrected in PowerPoint version 7.0 for Windows 95. WORKAROUND ========== The Canon BJ-200e can emulate the Canon BJ-10e. The emulation mode is controlled by the printer's DIP switches. Consult the printer's documentation for instructions about how to set the DIP switches to get BJ-10e emulation. Once you set the emulation mode of the printer, you can install the Canon BubbleJet BJ-10e printer driver that comes with Windows 3.1. You will now be able to print large characters without dropping any. NOTE: The Canon BJ-10e driver does not provide color printing support, so you will only be able to print in black and white with this driver. The Canon products included here are manufactured by vendors independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding these products' performance or reliability.
