BUG: Beautify Removes Certain CharactersID: Q125517 2.60a WINDOWS kbtool kbbuglist The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSA lowercase v followed by a space is removed from program code when it appears at the beginning of a line if you choose Beautify from the Program menu. Beautify also removes a less than sign (<) if it appears at the beginning of a line of code. These are the only two characters that the BEAUTIFY.APP is known to have problems with.
RESOLUTIONMake sure there is no space following the letter v, and don't begin a line of code with the less than character (<).
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
