XL5: Macro Fails If Worksheet Name Contains a Hyphen |
In Microsoft Excel, when you attempt to change a property of or perform a method on a locally defined name in a worksheet, you may receive the following error message:
Run-time Error '1004':
That Name is Not Valid.
This problem occurs if the local name is defined on a worksheet and the worksheet name contains a hyphen.
To avoid receiving this error message, rename the worksheet so that its name does not contain a hyphen. After you rename the worksheet, you should be able to change the properties of and perform methods on the defined name.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel version 5.0 for Windows. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel version 5.0c for Windows.
