Works: How to Disable, Enable Drag and Drop in Works for Windows

Drag and drop is a feature of Works 3.0 and later, which allows you to copy or move an object or text to a new location within the same document or from one document to another. The information is moved by highlighting it and dragging it with the mouse to the new destination.

The Drag And Drop option is turned on by default, and can be turned off.

To turn off the Drag And Drop option in Works for Windows, do the following:

  1. From the Tools menu, click Options.

    If you are using Works 4.0, 4.0a, 4.5, 4.5a, click the General tab.
  2. Click to clear the drag and drop option.
With drag and drop turned on, pressing CTRL while dragging will force it to copy the data. Pressing SHIFT will force it to move the data.
