SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel version 5.0 for the Macintosh, if you load the Data Access Macro add-in, Microsoft Excel may open a workbook named "Sheet1" with a worksheet named "Sheet1" instead of opening the default workbook.

WORKAROUND

To open a new workbook in the default format, do either one of the following:

  • Click the New Workbook icon on the Standard toolbar.

    -or-

  • From the File Menu, choose New.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
