SYMPTOMS

A document containing an Absolute Positioned Object (APO), with text on at least one edge of the object, may have truncated or missing text when you use the Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet 500 series driver, versions 4.0, 4.1, and 5.0.

RESOLUTION

When the printer setup is set to Automatic and there is text around an APO, the print job may have missing text around the edge of the APO or parts of the letters may be missing, depending on the video driver.

To correct the problem, try one or both of the methods below:

Method 1

  1. From the File menu, choose Printer Setup.
  2. Select the printer and choose Setup.
  3. Change the Printout option from Automatic to Black Text or Color Graphics.

Method 2

Change the video driver to VGA. For more information about how to perform this task in Windows, see your Windows printed documentation or online Help.
