SUMMARY
Even when the Protection options (Protect Field in Works 4.0, 4.0a, 4.5, or 4.5a, or Locked, Protect Data, and/or Protect Form in Works 2.0 and 3.0) are selected in the Works for Windows Database module, the record order can be changed by choosing the Sort Records command.
When Locked and Protect Data are selected in the Spreadsheet module, the
cell contents can still be changed by choosing the Sort (Works 4.0, 4.0a, 4.5 or 4.5a) or Sort Rows (Works 2.0 and 3.0) command.
This could be a problem if other cells in the spreadsheet contain references to cells that were reordered. The Protect Data command is designed to keep the cells from being manually deleted or changed by reentering data into protected cells, reformatting (except row height and
column width), or spell checking.
