SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to print or print preview using the
Windows 3.x Toshiba P351 printer driver (version 3.0) in Works or Windows
Write, you receive the following error message:
Works:
MSWorks caused a General Protection Fault in Module
TOSHIBA.DRV
Write:
Write caused a General
Protection Fault in Module COMMDLG.DLL
NOTE: This problem also occurs if you use the Windows 3.0 driver under
Windows 95.
RESOLUTION
If you are using Windows 95, install the Toshiba P351
printer driver that comes with Windows 95.
If you are using Windows 3.0,
use one of the emulation drivers listed below.
The Toshiba P1351 and
P351 drivers emulate the following printers:
- P351/P351c/P341/P341e/P321
- P1352/P1340
- P1350
- Qume Sprint 11 (Daisy wheel printer
emulation)
- Qume Sprint 5 (Daisy wheel printer
emulation)
- IBM Proprinter
- Another printer whose emulation card you have installed in
the printer. (Toshiba has stopped manufacturing printers and the supply of
emulation cards is limited.)
NOTE: From the user's guide for the Toshiba P351sx, Section 4/3:
If you use an emulation other than the Toshiba printer's native mode
(QUME), you'll be able to print images and text, but they'll look as
if they were printed on the emulated printer (within the limitations
of the emulated printer). The text and images may not be as clear as
if they were printed with the native Toshiba sequences.
