Copy of Attached Object Created with Cut/Paste/Undo/Paste Task |
Q126934
In Microsoft Project, when you move a task on your project that has an attached object using the Cut and Paste commands, if you undo the paste action and then paste the task again, a copy of the object that is attached to the task appears on your project.
This behavior occurs when the task that you cut and paste has an attached
object, such as a drawing object, or an OLE object. This behavior occurs
because after you paste the task a second time (after choosing the Undo
Paste command) the unique ID of the task stays the same. However, when you
paste the task the second time, Microsoft Project assumes that the task
will have a new task ID, and the drawing object is duplicated.
Note that this behavior does not occur when you use the Copy command.
To work around this problem, you can select one of the objects, and press DELETE to remove the duplicate object.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
