SYMPTOMS

When you select a file with the SourceSafe.Add dialog with a mixed case name under SS NT, it changes the name to all uppercase.

RESOLUTION

Use the Windows File Manager and drag-and-drop to add the file.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This bug was corrected in VisualSourceSafe version 4.0.
