The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, versions 6.0

Word for the Macintosh, version 6.0, is not available on 800K disks.

Microsoft has discontinued support of products that run on computers with the 68000 processor. These machines, with the exception of some Macintosh II, Macintosh SE, and Macintosh Classic computers, are the only machines with 800K drives. We have determined that not shipping Word on 800K disks will affect very few customers.
