Internet Assistant: Nested Bookmarks Removed After Conversion |
Q127169
When you save a document as HTML, bookmarks undergo the following changes:
By design, HTML markup does not allow nested bookmarks, so it ends the bookmark at the end of the paragraph in which the bookmark resides.
Bookmarks are converted to Anchor (<A>) tags and include the NAME
attribute. In HTML, Anchors to bookmarks represent the destination for your
ypertext links and are typically a word or short phrase.
For more information on how bookmarks are used in HTML, from the Help menu,
choose "Microsoft Internet Assistant for Word Help" choose the Search
button and type "Bookmark" (without the quotation marks), then highlight
the "Hyperlink to Bookmark" topic and choose the GoTo button.
