ChDir Command May Fail on Novell Networks |
Q127780
When you use the ChDir WordBasic command, Word may return either of the following error messages:
Error 53: "File not Found"
After the error is displayed, the ChDir command successfully changes the directory.Error 102: "Command Failed"
These errors may occur when you are using any version of the NetWare DOS Requester (VLM) earlier than v1.2. The problem does not occur when using NetX.
Upgrade the VLM to version 1.2. VLM version 1.2 can be found on CompuServe in the NovFiles forum and on FTP site:
ftp.novell.com/pub/netwire/novfileFor more information see WWW.NOVELL.COM/ServSupp/client/win95/file.htm.
VLMUP3.EXE
WINDR2.EXE
NWDLL2.EXE
NET33X.EXE NOTE: NET33X.EXE is only required if you are updating
NetX workstations also.
VLMFX.EXE NOTE: VLMFX.EXE may not exist. If it does exist, it will
not be located with the other files, but in the
/NOVLIB/05 section. This section is Read Only--you must
specify the exact filename as shown above in order to
obtain it
These files are self extracting, and you should extract each file into its
own empty subdirectory. Each contains a readme file with instructions for
updating, which should be followed explicitly.
