SYMPTOMS

In Equation Editor 2.01 or later for the Macintosh, if you paste an equation that was originally created in Equation Editor 2.0a for Windows, you may experience the following problems:

Your computer may stop responding.

-or-

You may receive a System bomb error message.

-or-

You may receive the following message:

Floating-point co-processor is not installed

If you double-click an equation object in Equation Editor 2.01 or 3.0 that was originally created in Equation Editor 2.0a, you may get the following error:

Word cannot edit the Microsoft Equation

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word versions 6.x and later.
