SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel, when you attempt to insert a template into the active workbook using the Sheet tab shortcut menu, the sheets in the template may not be inserted into your workbook.
CAUSEThis behavior occurs if any of the sheets in the template are hidden. If any of the sheets in the template are hidden, none of the sheets (hidden or visible) will be inserted into your workbook.
WORKAROUNDSTo work around this problem, use any of the following methods.
Method 1When you create a template that you are going to insert in another workbook, make sure that none of the sheets in the template file are hidden.
Method 2Open the template that contains the sheets that you want to insert. You can then move or copy individual sheets from the template file to your workbook, or from your workbook to the template file.
MORE INFORMATIONWhen you create a template file, and save the file to the XLSTART subdirectory (Windows), or the EXCEL STARTUP FOLDER (5) folder (Macintosh), the template is available in the New list on the Sheet Tab shortcut menu. You can then insert a sheet or sheets based on the template in your workbook. To display the Sheet Tab shortcut menu, in Microsoft Excel for Windows, click the right mouse button on a sheet tab in your workbook. In Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, hold down the CONTROL key and click a sheet tab in your workbook.
