SYMPTOMS

When you click Save in the Save As dialog box, Word may stop responding or quit with a Type 1 error.

This problem may also occur when you preview graphics in the Insert Picture dialog box.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if SuperBoomerang version 5.0 from Now Software is installed on your computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve the problem, upgrade to Word 6.0.1. To obtain Word 6.0.1, call the Microsoft Order Desk at (800) 360-7561. If you are outside the United States, contact your local subsidiary. To locate your subsidiary, see the Microsoft World Wide Offices Web site at:

To work around the problem in Word version 6.0, disable SuperBoomerang 5.0 or upgrade to SuperBoomerang 5.0.1a.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 6.0 for the Macintosh. This problem was corrected in Word version 6.0.1 for the Macintosh.
