PRJ4: Module Unhidden After Entering Name in Module Box |
Q128697
In Microsoft Project, when you hide a module, if you then enter the module name in the Module box on the Visual Basic toolbar, the module name appears in the Module box and the module is unhidden, although the text in the module does not appear on the screen. The Module Editor displays either the text of the active module, or an empty module (if there are no visible modules in either the project OR in the global template).
If the hidden module is stored in the project, this behavior occurs only if
there are no other visible modules in the project. If the hidden module is
stored in GLOBAL.MPT or the Global Template file (on the Macintosh), this
behavior only occurs if there are no other visible modules in the global
template. Under either of these conditions, the hidden module is unhidden
when you enter the module name in the Module box, though the module does
not appear in the Module Editor.
You can use the Module box to select a visible module, either by selecting
the module name from the list of visible modules, or by entering the module
name in the Module box and pressing ENTER. However, you cannot select a hidden module by entering the module name in the Module box.
Note that when this problem occurs, the Unhide Module dialog box appears
briefly when you enter the name of a hidden module in the Module Box. If
the module was hidden using a password, the Password dialog box also
appears asking you to enter the password.
NOTE: If the project or global template contains a visible module, when you enter the name of a hidden module in the Module box, you do not receive an error message indicating that the module is not available. The module name appears in the Module box; however, the module is not unhidden in this case.
To work around this problem, use the following steps to unhide a module:
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
