SYMPTOMS
After you upgrade to System 7.5, you may experience a slower performance of
the Microsoft Mail for AppleTalk workstation and the Microsoft Mail for PC
Networks, Macintosh workstation when you use the Remember Recently Used
Items in the Control Panels Apple Menu Options.
The performance degradation varies from minimal to drastic depending on
memory, processor speed, and other extensions loaded.
WORKAROUND
NOTE: Macintosh System 7.5.1 Apple Menu Options Remember Recently Used
Items does not effect performance as much (if at all) as the 7.5 version.
To workaround this problem, turn off the Remember Recently Used Items by
following the steps below:
- From the Apple menu, choose Control Panels.
- From Control Panels, choose Apple Menu Options.
- Clear the check box for Remember Recently Used Items.
NOTE: In order to gain performance, the option must be turn off. No
performance increases will seen by reducing the amounts remembered.
