SYMPTOMS

A downloaded URL displays odd pagination and a column of empty bullets down the left side of the page. Your system will hang if you attempt to scroll through the document.

CAUSE

The HTML Web document you are reading contains tag information that is interpreted by Internet Assistant to produce a MACROBUTTON field that contains a soft return within a bulleted list. Word cannot display this combination properly; it shows the empty bullets instead.

STATUS

We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

RESOLUTION

Instead of using Internet Assistant, use another Internet browser, such as NetScape, to download this type of URL.
