Invalid Path Error Launching Works Demo on a Network

SYMPTOMS

When you try to start the Introducing Works demonstration from a shared CD-ROM drive on a network, you may receive the following error
The path <drive>:\demo\workscbt.exe is invalid
where <drive> is the drive letter mapped to the shared CD-ROM during the Works installation.

CAUSE

This error occurs on a network when the drive originally mapped to the shared network CD-ROM is remapped to another shared resource or is no longer mapped.

RESOLUTION

To access the Introducing Works demonstration, you must remap the installed drive location to the shared CD-ROM drive on the network.

For example, if you mapped drive H to the shared CD-ROM drive on the network and installed Works for Windows, multimedia edition, version 3.0, you must remap drive H to the shared CD-ROM drive.
