PRJ4: GP Fault Using Keyboard to Select in GanttChartWizard |
Q128999
kbother kberrmsg projwin
When you run the GanttChartWizard in Microsoft Project, if you press the B
key to select an item in the Other list in the GanttChartWizard--Step 2
dialog box, instead of selecting an item in the list, the previous dialog
box, GanttChartWizard--Step 1, appears.
If you then choose the Next button, you receive a general protection (GP)
fault. You receive a dialog box with the following error message:
WINPROJ4 caused a General Protection Fault in module WINPROJ.EXE at 001F:08E0 (Note that the memory address may be different.)
This problem occurs if you click the Other list box arrow in the
GanttChartWizard--Step 2 dialog box, and you press B to select one of the Baseline items in the list. You cannot use the keyboard to select an item in this list after you click the Other list box arrow to display the list.
If you press B in this case, the Back button is selected, and the previous (GanttChartWizard--Step 1) dialog box is displayed. If you then choose the Next button, you receive a GP fault.
To work around this problem, avoid using the B key to select an item from the Other list in the GanttChartWizard--Step 2 dialog box if you used the mouse to select the Other list box.
To select an item in this list without receiving the GP fault, do one of
the following:
-or-
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
