SYMPTOMS

When you send a fax from Word with Prometheus MaxFax, pages may fax blank or entirely black.

Additionally, canceling from the fax's Address dialog box may cause Word to hang, crash, or "Unexpectedly Quit."

The following error message may appear:

   Word cannot print due to a problem with the current printer.

CAUSE

The blank pages are generally due to a problem with converted Word 5.x documents.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed these to be problems in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching these problems and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

For the pages that print entirely black, use the following steps to print them correctly:

1. From the File menu, choose Print.

2. Select the Color/Grayscale option. Choose the OK button.

3. Select the addressee text and drag it to the Send To: box. Click the Fax button.
