Problems Editing Equation Editor Object in Works for Windows

SYMPTOMS

After you insert an Equation Editor 2.0 object into a Microsoft Works document, you are not able to exit completely from Insitu, or in-place editing. In addition, the sizing of the object is incorrect.

WORKAROUND

To correctly size, update, and leave object editing, follow the steps below:
  1. Click the Equation Editor object.
  2. From the Edit menu, choose Equation Object. Choose Open.
  3. From the Equation Editor File menu, choose Exit And Return.
  4. Click anywhere in the Works document away from the Equation editor object.
The object is now updated, sized correctly and you should be able to leave Insitu edit mode.

MORE INFORMATION

This behavior is not seen in applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Publisher.
