Selected Master Set Fonts Causes LaserWriter 320 to Restart

SYMPTOMS

Certain variations of fonts from the Microsoft TrueType Master Set can cause the LaserWriter 320 to be restarted (without printing the print job). Fonts from the Master Set that can cause this problem are:

   Playbill
   Stencil
   Brittanic Bold
   Wide Latin
   Mistral

This problem occurs most often when you print a combination of two of these fonts on the same page, or when you use large sizes (such as 50 or 60 point) of any of these fonts.

CAUSE

This problem is related to the version of PostScript that comes with the LaserWriter 320 printer.

STATUS

Apple has confirmed that this is a problem with the Apple LaserWriter Select 320 and has notified Adobe Systems of this problem.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, reduce the number of combinations on a single page or reduce the size of the fonts being used in the document (if they are greater than 50 point).
