PRB: Can't Join or Leave a Project from a Directory with Delta

ID: Q130877

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Delta for Windows, version 1.0

SYMPTOMS

Only the Join Project, New Project, Delete Project, Search for Projects, and Exit commands are accessible when you attempt to join the first project. Delta complains that the directory is already joined to the project. Joining other projects is permitted, but when accessing the original project from the combo box, the combo box flashes the old project name but replaces it with the new name.

CAUSE

The original project's reference in the combo box is removed when you choose Search for Projects from the Project menu.

RESOLUTION

You can restore the original project by running the REPAIR command from the MS-DOS command line:

   REPAIR /AS <project location> /P <project name>

If status information exists corresponding to the directory and the project, the REPAIR command functions as the JOIN command, downloading files and updating the DELTA.MVM file.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

1. Join a Project. This creates a project in the Project combo box.

2. Join a different project from the same directory. This creates a new

project in the Project combo box.

3. Leave the second project joined. This removes the new project from the
   combo box.
