PRJ4: Maximum Projects Message When Closing Consolidated File

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you close a consolidated project that contains 80 component projects, you may receive one of the following messages:

The maximum number of files is already open (Windows)
-or-
Disk Full (Macintosh)
This message will occur for each component file of the consolidated file.


CAUSE

These messages may occur if a macro was created, edited, or executed in the consolidated file.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
