FIX: Using Keyboard to Activate Submenus Fails on Macintosh

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FoxPro for Macintosh, version 2.5c

SYMPTOMS

While you are designing a menu using the Menu power tool, your computer hangs if all three of the following conditions are met during the design process:

  • The menu needs to be at least three levels deep.
  • The menu needs to be run from the menu builder's "Try It" button.
  • The menu must be accessed by the F10 key and the arrow keys.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in version 2.60a of FoxPro for the Macintosh.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

1. Use the CREATE MENU command to create a menu named Test.

2. Enter "Test" as main menu option.

3. Enter "Test1" as submenu of "Test."

4. Enter "Test2" as submenu of "Test1."

5. Use the "Try it" option.

6. Invoke the menu by pressing the F10 key.

7. Invoke submenus by pressing the DNARROW key.
