PRJ4: Finish Variance Not Calculated Without a Baseline Start |
Q132097
kbusage kbdocerr
In Microsoft Project, if the Baseline Start field is NA (not entered) then
a Finish Variance is not calculated.
NOTE: If the Baseline Start field of the project summary task is NA, then a Finish Variance for the entire project is not calculated.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
Microsoft Project Help describes Finish Variance as the difference between a Finish date and a Baseline Finish date. Although the calculation should be independent from the Baseline Start date, it is not. Microsoft Project does not calculate finish variance without the existence of a Baseline Start value.
