PRJ: General Protection (GP) Fault Using RAM Doubler

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to run Microsoft Project and RAM Doubler version 1.0 or 1.01 for Windows, you may receive a general protection (GP) fault. Also, when you print a project or view it in print preview, you may receive a general protection GP fault similar to the following:

Winproj4 caused a GP Fault in User.exe


WORKAROUND

An updated version of RAM Doubler that may correct this problem is available from Connectix. To obtain this update, call Connectix at (800) 950-5880, or download the update from CompuServe. From CompuServe, go to the MACAVEN forum, and download the RDW102.EXE file.

You can also obtain the update from Connectix's internet web site located at:

http://www.connectix.com/connect/upda.ram.html
As a temporary workaround, while Windows is starting, press the ESC key to prevent RAM Doubler from being loaded.


STATUS

Connectix has confirmed that RAM Doubler version 1.0 is incompatible with Microsoft Project for Windows.
