Bookmark Not Retained When Inserted into Another Document |
Q132204
When you insert text that includes a bookmark into another document that contains a bookmark with the same name, the bookmark in the target document is preserved while the bookmark from the source document is removed. This functionality is different from Word version 2.0, where the bookmark in the target document is replaced by the bookmark in the source document.
We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
To avoid losing bookmarks, first rename the bookmarks in one of the documents.
