Delete Previous Version Command Does't Delete Delta Diff Files

ID: Q132319

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Delta for Windows, version 1.0

SYMPTOMS

Occasionally, when running the Delta "Delete Previous Versions" command from the Admin menu, no disk space is saved. The same results occur when running Delta's MS-DOS command prjadmin deldiff <filename>.

RESOLUTION

Delete the difference files manually. If the difference file for a file is not found, Delta creates a new file for the changes. Follow these steps:

1. On the Admin menu in Delta, click Delete Previous Versions.

2. In the Windows File Manager, go to the DIFF directory in the master

project directory. Continue to move through the directory structure
until you find the file on which you just ran Delete Previous Versions,
and delete it. It contains the change history for that file. Delta has
already removed all references to the previous versions.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
