SYMPTOMS

Windows NT fails to shutdown correctly on some computers have video cards with an S3 chipset.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, start Windows NT in VGA mode.

To correct this problem, install the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT version 3.51.
