Publisher on Solution Provider CD-ROM Won't Install
Q133011
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Publisher for Windows, versions 2.0a
--------------------------------------------------------------------
SYMPTOMS
========
When you try to install Microsoft Publisher 2.0a from the April/May 1995
release of the "Microsoft Solution Provider Systems & Development Products"
CD-ROM, the setup will fail, and you will encounter the following error
message:
Could not open then file named 'D:\PUBLISH\HELP\PTROUBLE.CCD'.
Setup gives you the choice to either Retry or Cancel. The Retry choice will
not work around the error message, forcing you to cancel the setup.
CAUSE
=====
The cause of this problem is that there are three files missing from the CD-
ROM that are considered critical to Publisher's Setup program. These
are:
Ptrouble.ccd
Tempcc.ccd
Wordart2.hlp
If any one of these files is missing, Publisher's Setup will fail.
STATUS
======
This problem was corrected in the subsequent release of, "Microsoft
Solution Provider Systems & Development Products."
