Changing Lantastic 6.0 Share Settings

SYMPTOMS
========

When you run Publisher from a Lantastic 6.0 network server, you may receive
either of the following error messages:

 - Insufficient Files

   -or-

 - Not Enough Files

CAUSE
=====

The default settings for the version of Share that comes with Lantastic 6.0
may be below the minimum recommended for Publisher. The recommended
settings for a server are Share Locks equal to 500, and File Space equal to
5100.

RESOLUTION
==========

To change the Share settings for the Lantastic 6.0 Server, use the
following steps:

1. On the server computer, exit Windows.

2.  Change to the Lantastic directory, type NET_MGR.EXE.

   The Lantastic Net Manager program will be started.

3. Choose Server Startup Parameters.

4. Choose Performance Parameters.

5. Choose the Internal Share setting.

   a. Set Share Locks to 500
   b. Set File Space to 5100

6. Quit Net Manager, and save the changes.

7. Restart the server so that the changes will take effect.

The default settings for Lantastic version 6.0 are: Share Locks = 200 and
File Space = 2048.
