  • Microsoft Internet Assistant for Word, versions 1.0, 1.0z
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0a, 6.0c

SYMPTOMS

Paragraphs formatted with Heading Numbering convert to a multilevel ordered list when you convert your document to HTML. In addition, other formatting characteristics such as center, bold, italics, and font size are removed.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Assistant for Word, versions 1.0 and 1.0z. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

RESOLUTION

To preserve numbering and formatting--bold, italics or underline--apply the Ordered List,OL style instead of Heading Numbering, then directly apply the formatting.
