Error Printing Banners on HP DeskJet 660C

Q133374

-------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft Publisher for Windows, versions 2.0, 2.0a -------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS ======== When you print a banner from Microsoft Publisher 2.0a to the Hewlett- Packard (HP) DeskJet 660c driver version v.6.1.e or v.6.1.d, you may receive the following error: MSPUB caused a General Protection Fault in module HPVWCPS.DLL @ ####:#### This error occurs when the second tile of the banner prints. WORKAROUND ========== To avoid this error, use Publisher 2.0's ability to tile print only a portion of the banner at a time. This can be accomplished by doing the following: 1. Drag the zero-point marker of the rulers so that they intersect at the upper-left corner of the page you want to print. This can be accomplished by clicking the intersection of the two rulers with the right mouse button and dragging the rulers to the new position. 2. On the File menu, click Print. 3. Ensure all the printing options are set to the desired settings. 4. Click OK. Publisher will then display the Tile Printing Options dialog box. 5. Click "Print one tile from ruler Origin." 6. Select the Print TrueType As Graphics check box. 7. Click OK. This workaround forces Publisher to print one tile of the page from the point that was specified by the zero-point marker. Note: This procedure is detailed on pages 347-349 of the "Microsoft Publisher's User's Guide." STATUS ====== Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. Additional query words: 2.00 2.00a tile mspub
