XL7: Mixed-Case GeoData Labels Cause Incorrect Maps

SYMPTOMS
If you use uppercase labels mixed with lowercase labels in a GeoData column
of map data, data related to the items in uppercase letters may not be
drawn on the map. This problem will also affect data in the cells directly
above the capitalized labels.
The GeoData column usually contains the names of states or countries, or
other types of geographical information.
RESOLUTION
To avoid this problem, use either of the following methods:
Method 1:
Place uppercase column headings at the beginning of the data
columns with lowercase headings.
Method 2:
Use the same case for all labels in the GeoData column.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
