Shortcut to BBS Message Does Not Work When BBS Minimized

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use a shortcut to a bulletin board (BBS) message, you may receive the following error message: 

   Cannot open message. The modem connection has been lost. Please try to
   reconnect to The Microsoft Network.

CAUSE

A shortcut to a BBS message does not work if you have the BBS window minimized. The error message is inaccurate.

RESOLUTION

If the BBS window is not minimized, the shortcut functions properly.
