Error Message: Unable to Set the Internet Phone Number...

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to connect to The Microsoft Network, you may receive the following error message:

   Unable to set the Internet phone number because of the following error:
   The device does not exist.

CAUSE

This message is likely to occur after you delete a modem and add a different one.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, follow these steps:

  1. Click OK in the error message box.

  2. If you were signing up, run Sign-up again. If you were signing in, return to the Sign-In screen.

  3. Click Settings.

  4. Click OK.
