SYMPTOMS
Windows Setup does not detect a Roland RAP-10 sound card configured for
base I/O address 330h.
CAUSE
The RAP-10 sound card has additional features not supported by the
standard Windows drivers. Additionally, its I/O resource range extends
beyond the standard MPU-401 detection range of base addresses.
Windows does not normally upgrade this device and leaves the Windows
3.1 drivers in place. However, when you install Windows on a clean
system the RAP-10 is detected as an MPU-401, except when configured for
I/O base address 330h.
RESOLUTION
Use the Add New Hardware tool in Control Panel to manually install the
device, or change the device's base address and then run the Add New
Hardware Wizard to detect and install the device.
