The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 5.0, 5.0c
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 5.0, 5.0a
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows NT, version 5.0

SYMPTOMS

The Print Report command may print the active view of a sheet rather than the view saved in the report.

CAUSE

Print Report will print the wrong views if the following conditions are true:

  • Several worksheets are in a workbook.

    -and-

  • The first sheet has at least one view and the rest have at least two views.

    -and-

  • The workbook has a report with the first view from the first sheet and the first view from the second sheet, and so on.

    -and-

  • The first view in the first sheet is visible, the second view in the second sheet is visible, the third view in the third sheet is visible, and so on.

When you choose the Print Report command, the sheet1view1, sheet2view2, sheet3view3, and so on, will be printed even if the report included sheet1view1, sheet2view1, sheet3view1, and so on.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
