SYMPTOMSMicrosoft Excel does not include a way to add a vertical scrollbar as part of an Edit box that is placed on a dialog sheet.
RESOLUTIONIf you create an edit box on a dialog sheet, and you have Multiline Edit selected in the Control tab of the Format Object dialog box, you will need to use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll through the text. If you do not have an extended keyboard with arrow keys, use your mouse to select the text and drag down, or up, with the mouse button held down, to move through the text.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
