SYMPTOMS
When you use the right mouse button to click the Microsoft Excel version
7.0 title bar(the top most bar where the name "Microsoft Excel"
appears), the worksheet shortcut menu (which contains Cut, Copy, Insert,
and so on) will appear instead of the application's control menu (which
contains Restore, Minimize, Close, and so on).
WORKAROUND
To get the Microsoft Excel version 7.0 Control menu when you click on
the title bar, you can use one of the following methods:
Method 1: Use the right mouse button and click twice on the title bar.
Method 2: Use the right mouse button to click the title bar, and then press
the ESC key.
Method 3: Use the following keystrokes to display the desired control menu:
- To display the control menu for a sheet, press ALT+MINUS SIGN.
- To display the control menu for an application, press
ALT+MINUS SIGN and then press the Left Arrow key.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
